Seeing Panama by only going through the Canal is like seeing the United States while never leaving I-25. We are so glad we immersed ourselves in its sights, sounds, smells, ecology, language and food.
The BIG takeaways? Look at that skyline above with the Screw Building twisting up to the sky. No mosquitos. So many different plants and animals at so many different elevations. The rich and poor people - most visibly happy and so much like us in all the ways that matter. The Canal IS one of the Wonders of the World.
Yes, all were surprised to see these smiling, beautiful women in outrageous costumes all around our hotel when we arrived back in Panama City. Who knew the city is host to the International Miss Universe - Teen Competition??
